DESCRIPTION:
· Establishes a positive philosophy
that promotes and models good sportsmanship;
· Organizes cheer squad for
football and basketball games;
· Supervises students during home
and away events;
· Maintains equipment
inventory;
· Organizes and coordinates
fundraising activities;
· Prepares squad to participate in
state competition; and
· Teaches and upholds school and
WHSAA rules & regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must hold American Association of Cheerleading Coaches
and Administrators (AACCA) certification;
must pass (80%) the NFHS Spirit Rules open-book test;
must be able to attend all practices and games; and must have the
knowledge and ability to prepare the squad to participate in the
state competition. It is also expected that candidates be
able to work effectively with high school students and their
parents; be able to work cooperatively with school and District
personnel; and be able to work with students after school and
during evening and weekend events.
