The ideal candidate for a position at Rolling Meadows High School would be willing to work on an alternating block schedule, integrate learning for all students; understand and use good curricular design; exhibit a willingness to work with a standards-based curriculum; use strategies to enhance personal relationships with students, staff, and parents; utilize concepts that are consistent with quality tools; and be willing to work towards a collaborative model of teaching and learning. The administration welcomes teachers who embrace change and challenge and possess the highest professional and educational standards.

Qualifications:

• State of Illinois high school certification (09) and endorsement in English.
• Academically prepared to teach courses in written and oral communications.
• Academically prepared to teach courses in American literature and composition.
• Academically prepared to teach courses in World Literature and composition.
• Academically prepared to teach courses in writing and in advanced composition.
• Academically prepared to teach courses in contemporary literature.
• Ability to teach courses at various academic levels including AP and struggling readers.
• Endorsement or strong preparation in reading or ELL preferred.
• Ability to speak and understand Spanish preferred.
• Commitment to working with a professional learning team: designing, implementing, and refining curriculum.
• Commitment to working with and teaching college readiness skills within the curriculum.
• Proficiency in the use of instructional and multimedia technologies.
• Preference will be given to candidates willing to work with students outside of the normal school day by participating in activities, athletics, or other school related endeavors.
