Start Date: June 3
8 hours per day (variance of 7 to 11 week positions)
Salary: determined by the Board of Education in accordance with rate schedules.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High
school diploma or G.E.D.
2. Ability
to perform the essential job functions
3. Some
housekeeping and maintenance experience preferred
4. Knowledge
of technology equipment desirable
5. Maintaining
physical condition necessary for heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.), bending,
stooping, kneeling, crawling, climbing, pushing,
pulling, walking, standing or
sitting
PERFORMANCE
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Performs housekeeping and maintenance as directed which may
include but is not limited to the following:

Moves furniture or equipment within buildings as
directed

Maintains trash and garbage collection containers. Routes trash as assigned

Responsible for the cleaning, maintenance and
decorating for designated areas; e.g., painting, hanging pictures, etc.

Floor stripping and finishing

Wash walls and furniture
-
Shampoo carpets
- Clean light fixtures
- Dust mops floors
-
Sweeps and wet mops floors
-
Vacuums carpets
-
Spot cleans door frames, walls, light
switches, push plates and kick plates
-
Cleans glass
-
Cleans and sanitizes drinking fountains
-
Sanitizes washrooms and disinfects toilets, urinals and
sinks
-
High dusts furniture, tops of doors,
bookshelves, window ledges
- Cuts grass, rakes and polices
litter/general grounds maintenance
-
Provides support to other maintenance and
custodial departments as directed
- Repairs and maintains heating related
equipment (filter changes, etc.)
- Carpentry work (installing new shelving,
painting, drywall repairs, etc.)
