Salary:  $125,980.00 - $178,006.00 (IRS)  plus Retirement/Benefits.  Salary commensurate with experience

 

Hours:   Full-time (12 months)

 

Description:

The Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction shall be directly responsible to the Superintendent of Schools, for:

  • Direct the planning, review and implementation of District wide curricula including curriculum development, material and textbook selection, and staff development
  • Promotes and provides leadership for implementation and building leadership of all district initiatives including professional development and evaluation, curriculum review, planning and evaluation, scheduling, budgeting and BOE policies
  • Ensure that educational programs and staff development programs are in alignment with each other and with overall District goals
  • Supervises the development of curriculum documents and related materials prepared by personnel in the district and ensures that all curriculum is aligned with state regulations and District needs
  • Serves as District representative to various state, and national curriculum and instruction related associations and committees
  • Oversee the established curriculum development process leading to curriculum revision that aligns the district curriculum, common district assessments and resources to the Common Core Standards
  • Coordinate District character education programs and curriculum
  • Organize and monitor new teacher induction and mentoring programs
  • Oversee the District's ELL, bilingual, and dual language programs
  • Oversee District Media Personnel and Programs
  • Oversee the collection of student-based data and timely reporting in state and federal cycles
  • Oversee the coordination of District wide school improvement planning and reporting.  Assist administrators in the review, interpretation and synthesis of assessment and research data to supervise school improvement plans
  • Oversee the direct federal and state grant funding related to student achievement and staff development
  • Responsible to manage employees engaged in instructional services through subordinate supervisors.  Hire, train, assist employees, enforce organization policies, establish performance standards, and evaluate employee status
  • Perform other tasks and responsibilities assigned by the Superintendent

Required Qualifications:

  • Type 75 Administrative Certificate
  • Masters Degree in educational administration, education leadership or curriculum instruction. Doctorate preferred.
