PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBLITIES:

 

·         Control all aspects of layer two and three network management

·         Oversee firewall and content filter devices and security profiles

·         Monitor, document and report on network performance

·         Administer all policies and Intrusion Prevention Services

·         Assist in the selection of any new network applications

·         Support all Disaster Recovery initiatives

·         Manage all security, documentation and operability of leading edge connectivity

·         Direct the wireless networks, security, access and reliability of wireless access

·         Accept additional assignments in the role as directed by the Director of Technology or the

Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • A+ Industry certification in PC hardware and operating system technologies or equivalent
  • 4-year Bachelor’s degree required
  • Demonstrates knowledge of regular computer systems, maintenance, repair, switches, and wireless environment
  • Ability to manage and support edge network appliancDemonstrates leadership and resource talents
  • Demonstrates ability to work cooperatively with a talented staff, integrating and coordinating individual efforts into a unified network
  • Strong organizational and communication skills; proven ability to take initiative
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to security procedures
  •  Such additions and alternatives to the above qualifications as may be appropriate and acceptable

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

            12 month, non-union discretionary position

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

Normal office physical demands; ability to work in busy, congested areas; ability to work at desk for long periods of time often in a sedentary position 

 

Ability to lift computer equipment and supplies, bend twist, work in cramped equipment areas and computer labs; ability to travel throughout the district and buildings as needed

 

SALARY RANGE:

            $70,000-$80,000
