Speech/Language Pathologist

I.

Responsibilities

·          Directly responsible to the building principal.

·          Provide Speech/Language services to elementary grade students.

·          Communicate regularly with parents.

·          Be willing to work cooperatively with other staff and PTO organization.

II.

Qualifications

·          Possession of a proper Illinois Teaching Certificate:  

Type 10, 03, 09 or Type 73 endorsed for Speech/Language Pathology; license from IDPR not required but preferred.  

·          Willingness to work toward the betterment of all students.

·          Willing to work as a member of a learning team.

·          A willingness to devote the time necessary to contribute to the tradition of a highly efficient and effective teaching staff.

·          Knowledge of technology in learning is an asset.

III.

Pay & Benefits

·          Salary will be commensurate with professional training and experience according to salary schedule.

·          Nine month contract.

The School

·          The district has approximately 4,800 students.

·          Valley View educates approximately 633 students in

grades K-5.

·          The district has a reputation for providing students a solid,          basic education, borne out by test scores.

    V.

The Community

·          Formerly a rural/resort community, growing rapidly to a suburban-type community of approximately 27,000.

·          Located on the Fox River at the foot of the Northern Illinois Chain of Lakes, 75 minutes from downtown Chicago, 60 minutes from Northern Illinois University.

·          Small amount of light industry and regular commuter train service to Chicago.
