Teach students Early Childcare Occupations and assist them in becoming eligible for Level I INCCRRA Certification.  Also work with the community college to provide dual credit opportunities.  It is also necessary to work with an active business advisory committee. 

 

In this course students will acquire knowledge of the roles, requirements, and responsibilities in various Early Childhood settings, and the scope and importance of developmentally appropriate practice and curriculum in all settings.  Students study the areas of development and behavioral characteristics of preschoolers, examine developmentally appropriate practice and learn positive guidance. 

 

Candidate must possess or be eligible to obtain a teaching certificate from the Illinois State Board of Education.  A minimum of 60 hours of college credit and 2,000 hours of work experience in a day care or preschool is required in order to receive a Provisional Vocational Teaching Certificate.
