Qualifications:
Education:
1.
High School Diploma or equivalent
Skills:
1.
Able to demonstrate mastery in
Microsoft Office programs.
2.
Able to produce a two (2) page letter from
a provided copy in a Microsoft Office program.
3.
Able to format reports from the Skyward (data-mining feature for both
canned reports and self-created reports)
4.
Able to draft a one (1) page letter
from a provided topic in five minutes on Microsoft Word processing
program.
5.
Proficient with basic office equipment
to include a multi task telephone, calculators, and copying machines.
6.
Capable of learning to be proficient in
current District Computer Programs: Skyward and Student Information System from
ISBE.
7.
Capable of communicating effectively in
a pleasant, composed, and cordial manner with faculty & staff, students,
parents and the administration.
8.
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
9.
Such alternative to the above
qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
The
candidate will be expected to provide support to the administrators in making above
average decisions that impact financial and certified staff issues,
i.e. departmental budgetary items, grants, supplies, and requests.
Reports to: District/Building Administrator
Job goal: To provide clerical support to the assigned Building
Administrators, faculty and staff.
Performance responsibilities:
1.
Type a variety of
material, such as letters, student records, reports, memos, test scores, and
work permits/age certification.
2.
Maintain students'
cumulative folders and files appropriate materials.
3.
Assist Guidance
personnel in distribution of all college test applications and results.
4.
Select, train,
and supervise student aides who deliver appointments and do routine office
tasks.
5.
Perform all
duties related to Homebound Instruction.
6.
Perform the usual
office routines and practices associated with a busy, productive and
efficiently operating office.
7.
Type a variety of
office related materials.
8.
Compose memos and
short letters.
9.
Prepare vendor
invoices for payment, maintaining an accounting record on all purchase orders
and credits.
10.
Expedite
equipment repair of equipment by contracting vendors.
11.
Develop and
maintain the necessary rapport to be able to work effectively with staff and
students.
12.
Organize and
maintain all records and materials so that they may be easily and quickly
located when required.
13.
Assist in
supervision of Departmental budgets.
14.
Participate in
related training when offered by the district.
15.
Serve as the agent
for the issuance of the Illinois Department of Labor Employment Certificate for
students, families and residents of the community.
16.
Such other office
tasks that the District/Building Administrator may find appropriate and
acceptable for a clerical support person in that department.
