$35,374 - $49,772 or current placement on salary schedule
Description:
Plans and establishes the library/media program, goals and outcomes in accordance with building curriculum, District and state guidelines. Applicants must be dynamic, student centered library/media specialists with leadership qualities. Must be able to demonstrate a commitment to ensuring all students succeed at their highest level. Should have knowledge of and experience with differentiated teaching methods. Demonstrated commitment to partnerships with families and our community. Commitment to teaching and learning that occurs beyond the classroom and thorough understanding of ESL and multicultural best practice in education. Willing to dedicate the time and energy to a school community which has the District Long Range Plan and a culture of learning at its core.
Job Summary:
Perform all of the duties of an elementary library media specialist including teaching the district curriculum and standards, evaluating, selecting and ordering learning resources, counsel with and giving guidance to students and teachers based in identified needs, maintaining and analyzing assessment data to inform teaching, being on district curriculum committees, collaborating with team members, delivering media curriculum outcomes to students in partnership with other teaching staff, facilitating a partnership with parents and community organizations and adding to the culture of the school as a learning community, on an annual basis analyzes the media program to establish new policies and services as necessary and to determine needs to update and effective use of technology.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated successful teaching experience bringing all students to their highest achievement levels. Demonstrated successful collaboration with team members to create a learning community. Montana Library Teacher certification, or ability to be certified by the start of the 2012-2013 school year.
