High School ESL Curriculum Committee

General Statement

This ESL Curriculum Committee is being convened to ensure programmatic consistency district-wide and to provide a state of the art High School ESL program for Stamford Public School’s ELL students.  The committee will work on the following:

• Create Common Assessments for ESL A
• Develop a common curriculum that is used consistently for ESL B at the high school
• Align the CT Framework for ELLs to the district’s curriculum for ESL Level B

Who Is Encouraged to Apply? Teachers who are:

• Able to attend and participate in all of the scheduled meetings
• Currently teaching ESL in SPS, or are TESOL certified
• Familiar with TESOL Standards and the CT ELL Framework
• Will work collaboratively during and between meetings
• Willing to share information and collect feedback from school-based colleagues

All summer meetings will be held from 9:00-2:00
