VACANCY: The Valley View Public School District is seeking individuals to fill teaching positions for the Summer School Program for the Phoenix Experience students at Bolingbrook High School.
JOB SUMMARY: Phoenix Summer School will have two concurrent sessions, Session 1: 7:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. and Session 2: 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Applicant is resopnsible to the Program Administrator for planning and deliveringinstructional programs via two computers based learning systems adn independent study projects that will allow summer school students to earn credit for academic classes at an accelerated rate. The applicant will maintain a safe and positive climate within the classroom, contact home weekly via phone or progress reports and meet with each student individually each week to monitor progress and provide encouragement. Applicant must be able to teach all the Core subjects: English, Math, Science and Social Studies, and be proficient using the Education 2020 computer program. Applicant must work well with an at-risk poplulation, possess excellent classroom mangement skills and have demonstrated skill in diagnosing, prescribing and assessing student learning to facilitate student success.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Applicants must hold the appropriate State of Illinois Certificate
- Prior alternative education teaching experience preferred
- Applicants must be computer literate and able to work with web based, web based research and project oriented
- Applicants must be flexible and able to differentiate instruction and motivated to drive student achievement
- Applicants must be able to maintain records as required
- Applicants must commit themselves to the entire session (No vacations during session preferred)
WORKING CONDITIONS: Teachers will be paid $34.00 per hour. The work schedule is from June 11, 2012 through June 29, 2012.
