The Supervisor of Buildings & Grounds ensures smooth and efficient operation of the Buildings & Grounds department and sets daily priorities based on knowledge of the overall function of the department and performs work as required or assigned.

 

QUALIFICATION - EXPERIENCE - KNOWLEDGE :

·      Education and experience equivalent to high school graduation plus three years of relevant experience, two of which should have been in an educational setting

·      Knowledge of principles of building maintenance, construction and security

·      Knowledge and understanding of building heating, cooling, lighting and all general facilities-related concepts and controls

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :  

·      Plans, initiates and carries to completion activities related to the efficient operation of the Building and Grounds Department

·      Maintains safe, sanitary and attractive buildings and grounds

·      Attends all meetings related to the operation of District facilities

·      Develops and maintains a preventative maintenance program

·      Supervises maintenance staff

·      Develops and implements in-service training programs for maintenance and custodial staff

·      Assists the Superintendent & Business Manager with the development of a Capital Improvement Program

·      Maintains building and grounds budget

·      Oversees construction projects

·      Liaison to police and fire departments

·      Contracts for additional security and maintenance, and custodial services as needed

·       Ability to work efficiently under minimum supervision

·       Ability to identify sensitive information and maintain confidentiality

 

Additional duties may be assigned.   There will be an annual performance evaluation for this position.
