Salary Range: $77,339 - $106,802 (depending on academic degree & experience)
Work Year: 210 days (excluding holidays & vacation time)
Starting Date: July 2012
Qualifications
· Ability to identify and promote effective instructional practices
· Background and experience with a standards based system
· A Colorado Department of Education administrative license: Professional Principal
· Course work and/or experience which gives evidence of competence in the use of recent developments in education
· Previous experience as an educational administrator is preferred
· Previous experience in supervision/evaluation of staff is preferred
· Effective verbal and written communication skills
· Ability to effectively manage a building budget
· Ability to work in a collaborative manner with students, staff, parents and community
· Ability to create and maintain a safe and effective learning environment for students
· Demonstrated effectiveness as both a team leader and team member
· Understanding of and experience in building-level school improvement processes leading to increased student performance
· Understanding of and successful experience in implementing data driven instructional processes and differentiated instructional practices, including effective response to intervention programming
Responsibilities
· The principal will lead staff members in implementing effective instructional and curricular practices responding to the needs of students, the direction of the District, and valid innovations in education
· The principal shall be responsible for utilizing appropriate resources of the staff, student body, school district and the community to develop and maintain highly effective instructional and co-curricular programs
· The principal shall have responsibility for planning and implementing long range goals and objectives related to the improvement of instruction in a standard based model and leading to increased student achievement
· The principal shall be responsible at the building level for planning and implementation of professional development activities for teachers and other staff members
· The principal shall be responsible for the performance evaluation and supervision of each staff member assigned to the school
· The principal shall be responsible for developing and maintaining effective communications among the students, the community, the faculty and the administration
· The principal shall have responsibility for planning and implementing effective school improvement processes leading to increased student performance
