Position:
Intervention Specialist (Mild to Moderate)
Location:
Springfield Middle School
Qualifications:
1.
Valid and appropriate teaching
certificate/license from the State of Ohio in special
education.
2.
HQT preferred in one or more subject
areas.
3.
Recent teaching experience in Middle
School special education classroom or inclusion setting
preferred.
4.
Knowledge of PRAXIS/Pathwise domains for
effective teaching.
5.
Knowledge of academic content standards
and learner outcomes associated with the Ohio Achievement
Assessment.
6.
Knowledge of the updated Ohio Policies and
Procedures for Special Education.
7.
Ability and willingness to provide
services to special education students in multiple settings
(resource room, inclusion, co-teaching…).
8.
Knowledge of effective strategies that
utilize various modalities to promote learning with special
education students.
9.
Knowledge of how to integrate technology
into the curriculum.
10.
Knowledge and experience with the IEP
process (assessment, goals, implementation, and
evaluation).
11.
Strong commitment to involve parents in
the educational process.
12.
Demonstrated ability to communicate with
students, parents, teachers, counselors, and
administrators.
13.
Willingness to meet the needs of all
students.
14.
Willingness to work in school sponsored
and school related activities.
