Please be informed of the availability of the following position in the Faribault Public Schools: Job Title: (2) Full-time Literacy Tutors
Job Description: Two full-time Literacy Tutors. These members will work one-on-one with K-3 children who need help learning to read. These members will use prescribed interventions and will conduct weekly progress monitoring to ensure the student is on track to read at the end of 3<SUP>rd</SUP> grade. These members will be required to attend Member Orientation, Member Institute and ongoing MRC-sponsored training held regionally. This position will report directly to the Site Supervisor and Regional Program Coordinator. This position will commence in August, 2012 and end on July 31, 2013. Qualifications: High School diploma or GED. Must be 18 years of age. Excellent oral & written communication skills. Strong interest in education. Experience working with children, preferably as a literacy tutor. Speak, read, and write English fluently. Ability to make a commitment to complete a full year of service. Prefer college coursework, college degree or equivalent work experience.
