ANNOUNCEMENT OF CERTIFICATED
VACANCY
(1 Year Position)
Position:
Intervention Specialist (moderate/severe)
This position will be the lead teacher
in a cross categorical resource room (k-2) to focus on
meeting the needs of our students with autism.

Qualifications:
1.
Valid and appropriate elementary teaching
certificate/license from the State of Ohio in special
education.
2.
Recent teaching experience in special
education classroom or inclusionary setting.
3.
Knowledge of PRAXIS/Pathwise domains for
effective teaching.
4.
Knowledge of state competency models and
learner outcomes associated with the State of Ohio Testing
process.
5.
Knowledge of the updated Ohio Policies and
Procedures for Special Education.
6.
Ability and willingness to provide
services to special education students in multiple setting
(resource room, inclusion, co-teaching…).
7.
Knowledge of effective strategies that
utilize various modalities to promote learning with special
education students.
8.
Knowledge of how to integrate technology
into the curriculum.
9.
Knowledge and experience with the IEP
process (assessment, goals, implementation and
evaluation).
10.
Strong commitment to involve parents in
the educational process and willingness to hold after school
parent education sessions on a quarterly basis.
11.
Willingness to meet the needs of all
students.
12.
Ability to communicate with students,
parents, teachers, counselors, and administrators.
13.
Willingness to work in school sponsored
and school related activities.
14.
Familiar with and able to implement the
following programs/methodologies - ABA therapy, Ziggurat, CAPS,
Edmark, Touch Math, HWOT, Boardmaker, VB model.
15.
Willingness to supervise and manage adult
aides assigned to meet the needs of students.
