Responsibilities
-Differentiate instruction in an inclusionary preschool
model
-Provide consultation to BVSD and Head Start ECE teachers
-Travel between BVSD and Head Start locations
-Serve as case manager
-Use data to plan and implement a developmentally appropriate
environment that promotes social, physical and intellectual
growth of young children
-Provide direct and consultative services to meet IEP
goals
Qualification
Required:
-Currently hold a Colorado teaching license with Early
Childhood Special Education endorsement (or CDE licensure
application in process)
-Completed and submitted BVSD on-line application
Preferred:
-Dual licensure in Early Childhood Special Education and in
Early Childhood Education
-Previous experience in early childhood special education
-Knowledge, experience and comfort in engaging all families in
the educational planning for preschool age children, including
home visits, parent conferences, and development of IEP in
collaboration with family, other agencies and colleagues
-Extensive knowledge of child development and experience
teaching children, ages 3 to 5
-Ability to work on a transdisciplinary team
-Ability to provide consultative and direct services
-Strong understanding of accommodations, modifications and
strategies to use with preschool children who have special
education needs
-Bilingual/Biliterate Spanish/English (must pass district
Bilingual assessment)
-Expertise and experience working with English Language
Learners
