Salary/Hourly Rate:  $13.42- $17.95

Hours of Work:  On Call for various Catering needs throughout the summer

Job Summary:

The School Nutrition/Cook 2 performs a variety of job functions related to high volume, high speed quantity food preparation. This position will be heavily focused on food preparation for District catering and concession events; and scratch baking breads, muffins, bars, etc.  Food production concentrated in the command of recipes and procedures for baking, skillet and kettle operation; sanitation, safety, and security; program regulations and accountability and equipment use and care. Also includes; necessary supervisory and teamwork skills, cashiering and customer service focus; assumption or assistance of the duties of the supervisor or manager in their absence and other duties and responsibilities as assigned by their supervisor.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Degree from technical college in Culinary Arts or one year of successful work experience in school food service or related food service operation desired
  • Experience with quantity food preparation required
  • Evidence of excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Supervisory experience desired
  • Evidence of experience working with computers and Microsoft Office software
  • Membership in MSNA/SNA encouraged
  • Can safely lift up to 40 lbs
  • Previous catering experience preferred.  Applicant must be available to work a flexible schedule to include occasional evenings and weekends.
