Specific Duties/Tasks Include:
The instructional coach provides leadership for teachers by planning, collaborating, organizing, mentoring and facilitating the effective use of classroom management practice to improve the instructional program.
The instructional coach disaggregates and analyzes classroom observation data that focuses on student behavior/classroom management and assists principals and teachers in its interpretation to measure and improve student achievement and/or program effectiveness.
The instructional coach provides knowledge of appropriate standards, content, materials, student behavior, classroom management, and resources.
The instructional coach facilitates the use of research-based teaching strategies and best practices to address the behavioral needs of students so that teachers can meet school goals.
The instructional coach establishes, maintains and enhances effective communication with administrators, teachers, parents and other stakeholders regarding the Instructional/Behavioral Goals and the PBIS plan.
The instructional coach demonstrates a commitment to professional growth and ethical standards to advance the mission, goals and policies of Somerton School District schools.
The instructional coach works to provide support to teachers in the area of student motivation and management strategies.
The instructional coach observes teachers in their classrooms and offers insights on student behavior and classroom management practices for the enhancement of teaching-learning situations.
The instructional coach will assist teachers and Student Study Team to identify students eligible to receive behavioral support and monitor the effectiveness of the intervention.
The instructional coach performs other duties related to the improvement of student achievement as determined by the principal, performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills and Other Characteristics Required:
Knowledge of District and school policies and procedures.
Knowledge of Federal and state regulations governing programs.
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
Skill in verbal and written effective communication.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in education/Master’s degree preferred.
Hold Arizona State Teacher Certification.
Successful teaching experience
Experience as Instructional Coach Preferred
Experience in research-based instructional practices/Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports preferred

Salary set on the Certified Teacher Salary Range based on education and experience
