AOEC Summer School Program

3 - Teaching Positions available - Grades 7-12 

Pending Board Approval, Funding and Enrollment

 

The AOEC Summer School Program will begin on Wednesday, June 6 <sup>th</sup> and continue through July 27 <sup>th</sup> .  Classes will not meet on Wednesday July 4, 2012.  Experience with NovaNet and APEX computer systems are prerequisites for employment for the AOEC Summer School classes.

 

 

AOEC Session I: June 6, 2012 - June 29, 2012 (8:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon) Monday through Friday

 

AOEC Session II: July 2, 2012 - July 26, 2012 (8:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon) Monday through Friday

Location:   AOEC

                                                                                                                   

Responsibilities:   (1) Facilitate student learning using the computer-based NovaNet and APEX Computer Systems; (2) Monitor and record student progress; (3) Provide for daily parent/guarding contact for all absences; (4) Develop a close relationship with each student's parents or guardians; (5) Inform building principal whenever a student's attendance is unsatisfactory; (6) Employ creative methods of instruction and utilize a variety of materials within the structure of the designated curriculum; (7) Create a child-centered learning environment that is characterized by the consistent application of sound mental health and educational psychology practices; (8) Develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior and appropriate reinforcement techniques that are consistently applied; (9) Communicate with parents regarding student achievement; (10) Instruct and respond in an appropriate manner with ethnically diverse students; (11) Use effective oral and written expression; (12) Oversee and maintain the various TAOEP student tracking forms and meet submission deadlines; (13) Perform such other professional duties as may be assigned by the building principal.

 

Stipend:   Teachers will be paid a stipend of $35.00/hr.  Federal and State withholdings will be taken from the amount earned.  Checks will be issued at the end of June and the end of July.

 

Additional Information:   Failure to fulfill these duties and responsibilities may result in dismissal from the summer program.  No more than two days can be missed without jeopardizing dismissal and termination of the contract unless extenuating circumstances prevail.
