Under the direction of Board Policy and
Superintendent, establish and implement the District's
accounting and business services that result in efficient and
effective operation to support educational excellence.
CPA or Masters Degree in Accounting
Background in educational setting preferred (3) years
experience in public financing
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to read and enforce Alaska statutes, State Board
Rules and YKSD Board Policy.
Ability to demonstrate administrative and technical expertise
in multiple areas including budget, risk management, finance,
purchasing, investments and food service. Exemplary oral and
written communicaton skills.
Develop and implement
sound fiscal policies and procedures, including the collection,
safekeeping and appropriate distribution of funds.
Provide leadership in
development and operational effectiveness of all business
Prepare monthly financial
and cost reports for the Superintendent, and reports for the
accounting of all income and expenditures to program directors
and site administrators.
Maintain a continuous
internal auditing program for all funds.
Work with Board Budget
Committee, Superintendent, program directors and site
administrators on annual budgets and revisions.
Approve all vouchers
authorizing the expenditure of funds.
Maintain District Wide
Insurance accounting and records.
Responsible for the
appropriate accounting of all funds, including the use of the
State's Chart of Accounts.
Work directly with the auditors in preparing
year-end financial statements, including all year-end reports
Supervise, Accounts Payable, Payroll,
Purchasing, and Administrative Clerk
Performs other duties as assigned.
