Reading/Reading Academy

Description:

The West Middle Reading teacher would teach Reading and/or Reading Academy.  This teacher would work with Second Chance Reading curriculum as well as general education reading curriculum.

Qualifications:

• Iowa teaching license required
• K-8 reading or 5-12 reading endorsement required
• Middle school endorsement preferred
• Willing to be trained in Second Chance Strategies
• Effective classroom management skills
• Strong technology skills
• Ability to differentiate
• Experience working with at-risk, diverse population of learners
• Ability to work collaboratively
• Creates classroom culture that supports the learning of every student

Working Conditions:   

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to indoor and outdoor conditions.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to frequently walk, stoop, bend, and sit.  The noise level in the work environment ranges from mild to loud.
