QUALIFICATIONS:                                      

1.          Educational :  Must have or be qualified to obtain the necessary certification from the Department of Education.  Masters in counseling required.

2.          Skills and Knowledge :  Ability to relate effectively to students, staff members, parents and community representatives; is knowledgeable in the area of child growth and development; expertise in teaching and counseling, both in one-to-one and group situations; skilled in planning and organizing those tasks that pertain to conunseling and delegating non-guidance tasks to other personnel; capable of providing personal-social counseling.

3.        Experience :  Previous elementary teaching experience and prior experience in counseling are preferred. Previous experience with early adolescent children in other professional settings will be considered.  (i.e. counseling internship)  

SALARY BENEFITS:          $37,710 - $69,325
