POSITION:
Principal - John C.
Clark Elementary School (Pre-K-8)
REPORTS TO:
Assistant
Superintendent of Schools for K-8
POSITION SUMMARY:
We are currently seeking a creative,
dynamic, innovative and motivated school leader to serve as
Principal of J. C. Clark, a newly identified Pre-K - 8
Community School with a diverse multi-cultural community
population. The leader of Clark school must be committed
and dedicated to the highest expectations for students, staff
and all members of the school community.
The principal will support a site-based management structure
that includes active and regular participation of the entire
Clark School community, which will include a focus on high
engagement of parents and caretakers. The principal will
administer and supervise the total education program of the
school, exercising instructional leadership of the personnel
operating in the school and responsibility for the safety,
discipline, and welfare of all students.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Advanced Degree
in Education
·
Minimum of 5
years of successful teaching experience at the elementary and/or
middle grades.
·
Minimum of 3
years successful administration experience
·
Demonstrated
strength in Public Speaking to effectively communicate with
students, staff, parents and community members in a
multi-cultural community
·
Demonstrated
experience in building partnerships and resources to Clark School
and willingness to work with Community School Partners
·
Understands RTI
and data collection methods
·
Successful
experience working in urban/multi-cultural environments
·
Knowledge of
financial management
·
Commitment to
Character Development of students
·
Must possess and
understanding of, experience in, and commitment to the
integration of technology into the curriculum and instruction to
facilitate student achievement
QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:
·
Ability to work
cooperatively with parents and the community towards Clark's
Schools Mission/Vision
·
Demonstrates
experience in Special Education
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Connecticut Certification in Intermediate
Administration/Supervision (092)
SALARY AND TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary in accordance with Hartford Principals' and Supervisors'
Association Group 1-3 ($113,930 - $129,695). 2012-2013
Twelve-month position.
