Special Education Instructional Specialist (TOSA)

Coordinate district-wide K-12 special education literacy, math
and written language intervention strategy and methodology;
professional development; design special education instructional
alignment with general curriculum documents; instructional
practices; student data collection and analysis of district
special education student progress; special education program and
service evaluation; IEP and I-13 alignment; special education
data management system implementation, training and collaboration
in district, state and federal required reporting.
Responsibilities
- Serve as instructional specialist for special education
staff providing specialized instruction to students with IEPs
- Facilitate coordinated and collaborative aligned
instructional practices with general education curricular
department directors and instructional coaches
- Provide support and professional development training to
staff related to the development of skills necessary to implement
and monitor student instruction progress using district
instructional programs, interventions and instructional tools
- Monitor and evaluate special education instructional program
effectiveness and guide improvement practices as needed through
the development of procedures and identification of training
needs for instructional and paraprofessional staff
- Provide support and work collaboratively with site
leadership in the provision of instructional support for special
education staff
- Assist in identification, development, implementation, and
reporting of special education instructional performance data
- Assist in the creation of Colorado Department of Education
(CDE) reports and continuous improvement monitoring process
(CIMP) corrective action plan activities and progress
monitoring
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required:

Current Colorado special education teacher or related service
license
-
Master's Degree in Special Education or related field
- Completed and submitted BVSD online application
Preferred:
- At least 3 years teaching or related services experience
with leadership and/or specialized training in literacy and/or
mathematics instruction
- Current Colorado administrator or principal license
