Position:    Title I Achievement Coach

Summary

The EVSC seeks exceptional individuals who have demonstrated capacity to serve as part of the school /district leadership team and provide job-embedded and on-going professional development for teachers, staff, and administration in a specific Title I Schools.  The focus of the coach’s work is to collaborate, mentor, and model how to use data, incorporate best practice, and engagement strategies to enhance instructional practice at the classroom level.   Ideal candidates will be student centered, collaborative, and have the skills necessary to be a catalyst for change as an integral part of a high performing leadership team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Participating in all required coaching professional development

·         Identifying school teaching and learning needs, barriers, weaknesses and strengths by analyzing student data, and organizing and implementing problem-solving actions with teachers through professional learning teams

 

·         Facilitating school-based and/or district high quality professional development including DataWise

 

·         Monitoring student progress using tools and strategies gained through professional development including DASH, Data Warehouse

·         Building and maintaining confidential relationships with administrators and teachers

·         Develop, prepare and facilitate specific instructional strategies throughout the district with other coaches based on area of knowledge and skill set

·         Maintaining the focus of professional learning on teaching and student learning by encouraging teams to work collaboratively to achieve effective student achievement

·         Foster relationships with building administrators to collaboratively provide professional development aligned with school improvement plans/district initiatives

·         Support the planning, implementation, and articulation of the School-wide Improvement Plan. 

Successful candidates must possess the following traits:

·         Student Focused-Experience working effectively with diverse populations to build relationships and increase achievement

·         Teacher Leader-Strong instructional practitioner, with a history of results, able to analyze student needs and help others improve their practice through collaborative relationships

·         Evidence-based and data-driven-Uses data and other evidence to make decisions about research based practices and high yield instructional strategies

·         Instructional Specialist-Deep understanding of the relationships among content area knowledge, pedagogy, professional learning, and school improvement

·         People-oriented-Establish positive and productive relationships through collaboration with administrators, teachers, students, and families

·         Critical thinker and decision maker-Analyzes information and organizes thinking to solve problems and make decisions that are aligned with strategic goals

·         Communications-Effective  and articulate verbal and written communication skills

·         Technical Ability-Model digital-age work and learning through effective use of current and emerging digital tools.

·         21<sup>st</sup> Century Skills-Infuses instruction with opportunities for collaboration, problem-solving, and information literacy.
