Principal &
Director of Academic Programs
Middle School Grades
5-8
The
Principal & Director of Academic Programs for the Middle
School is responsible for making sure that LRPA's students in
grades 5-8 succeed, including the following areas of
responsibility:
Student Learning
·
Ensure that all
students make strong lesson progress
·
Ensure that all
students achieve consistent mastery of concepts and skills
·
Ensure that
students receive instruction at a level and in a manner that
fully engages them. Student learning is demonstrated through:

Academic Design
Implementation
·
Ensure that
Exalt Academies' best-practices, research-validated educational
design is fully implemented including 8 design principles.
·
Opportunity to
play instrumental leadership role in helping Exalt leadership
team to refine middle school design for grades 5-8, which will be
rolled out at all Exalt-managed middle schools.
·
The middle
school is growing into a rigorous, liberal arts program where
accomplished faculty specialize within their subject-area domains
while remaining centered on meeting students' needs.
Teacher
Effectiveness:
·
Provide teachers
with educational leadership, including curricular planning
guidance and instructional coaching.
·
Ensures that all
teachers are well prepared and equipped to manage their
classrooms effectively.
·
Ensures that all
teachers develop and employ positive behavior techniques
effectively.
·
Performs
classroom observations and performance evaluations regularly.
·
Collaborates
closely with Exalt team to plan and deliver weekly professional
development schedule.
·
Facilitates
learning at high levels throughout the school day.
Student Culture Setting
& Supervision
·
Sets &
develops student cultural norms and character expectations
through weekly assemblies and daily leadership presence.
·
Ensures that all
members of the team are working together to engage students so
they can cultivate the attributes required of LRPA Graduates.
·
Coordinate staff
supervision so that students are safe and healthy throughout the
day including arrival and departure, classrooms, hallways,
recesses, bathrooms and other transitions.
Administration &
Reporting
·
Works closely
with Finance Director and Office Manager to complete regulatory
and compliance reporting in an accurate, timely manner.
·
Fulfill other
responsibilities as assigned by Executive Director.
