THE POSITION
The goals of this position are to: 1) provide ongoing
instructional and coaching support to middle school teachers; 2)
assist teachers in the interpretation and use of data to modify
instruction in order to improve student achievement; 3) adhere to
all International Baccalaureate (IB) regulations, procedures, and
deadlines expected of the MYP Instructional Coach as set by the
IB; and 4) supports staff to plan and implement the MYP on an
on-going basis. Maintains all IB records and correspondence, and
facilitates professional development opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED
1.
NJ certified teacher.
2.
Experience with International Baccalaureate (IB),
3.
Background in content area literacy skills, and staff development
experience desired.
4.
A proven ability to work with and provide leadership for
colleagues.
5.
Staff development experience desired.
6.
Strong interpersonal, communication and computer skills.
7.
Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S.
citizenship or legal resident alien status.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
|
1.
|
Provides ongoing instructional and
coaching support for teachers.
|
|
2.
|
Assists teachers in the
interpretation and use of data to modify instruction
in order to improve student achievement.
|
|
3.
|
Serves as a non-evaluative
pedagogical coach with responsibilities that include,
but are not limited to, planning lessons with
teachers, co-teaching, and reflecting on
instructional practice.
|
|
4.
|
Job may require a commitment to
provide up to twenty-five (25) days of summer
employment as determined by administration.
|
|
5.
|
Strives to maintain and improve
his/her own professional competence.
|
|
6.
|
Supports staff to plan and
implement the MYP on an on-going basis.
|
|
7.
|
Keeps up to date with and informs
staff of developments and new publications pertaining
to the MYP.
|
|
8.
|
Circulates to teachers and
students all relevant information received from the
IB.
|
|
9.
|
Adheres to all IB regulations,
procedures, and deadlines expected of the MYP
Instructional coach as set by the IB.
|
|
10.
|
Supports the implementation of the
areas of interaction according to IB
guidelines.
|
|
11.
|
Supports the implementation of the
published IB subject specific assessment
criteria.
|
|
12.
|
Assists in communicating the
concepts of international awareness and international
mindedness in all subject areas.
|
|
13.
|
Maintains accurate school
information via the IB information system
(IBIS).
|
|
14.
|
Maintains all IB records and
correspondence, and facilitates professional
development opportunities.
|
|
15.
|
Performs other coaching/program
duties as assigned by the Principal.

10 Months
Salary as per SOMEA Agreement
