Information Systems
Manager
As a part of the school support team, the Information Systems
Manager will work collaboratively with the rest of the student
support team to assist in the operational functions of CICS
Bucktown, CICS Prairie, CICS West Belden. The Information
Systems Manager will support the school mission and values as
well as the CICS and DS mission and values to be the face and
voice of our school with professionalism and organization, as a
top priority at all times.
Major Job Responsibilities Summary:

Data Management
: Audit data reports for compliance, ensure reliable reports can
be created to meet applicable requirements, determine system
protocol and standards (i.e. field labels and structure).

Systems Development
: Monitoring of the student information systems and audit for
compliance with applicable requirements; implement
recommendations and ensure that the system is flexible to meet
user needs; incorporate user input and feedback to develop and
enhance the system.
·
User/Client Support
: Anticipate and address user concerns; create viable solutions
to meet business requirements; prepare and direct training of
users on the system.
·
Team Management
: Coordinate with school staff to facilitate smooth operations
and processes when collecting and reporting on student
information. Provide feedback, coaching and developmental
opportunities to ensure the team's successful performance.
·
Maintain confidentiality
of student records
: Work with School Operations Managers to understand their
data needs and system requirements.
·
Liaise
: With Director of Technology, RTI Director, Special Programs
Director and Curriculum Director to receive feedback on systems
and work together for problem solving.
Essential Functions:

Maintains a thorough working knowledge of and adheres
to organization/project policies, regulations and
procedures.

Keeps immediate supervisor (Director of Student
Services) well informed of activities, results of
efforts, and problems identified/potential problems;
recommends corrective actions to immediate
supervisor.

|
Respects confidentiality in discussing
participant/consumer, staff, volunteers and
organizational matters.
|
|
4.
|
Maintains confidentiality of organization fiscal and
personnel related information.
|
|
5.
|
Prepares report for workshops, seminars, conferences,
meetings and trainings attended pertinent to the
efficient dispatch of duties; overnight travel
occasionally required.

|
6.
|
Prepares and conducts presentations.
|
|
7.
|
Coordinates work related activities with other
organization staff and offices.
|
|
8.
|
Maintains an excellent working relationship with other
organizations ensuring Distinctive Schools is well
received and presented professionally and positively.
|
|
9.
|
Assist in the development of organizational, system
and technology goals; assist in the development of
detailed plans for goal accomplishment.
|
|
10.
|
Analyzes information and technology needs from a
strategic and operational perspective; determines
requirements and resources; makes recommendations.
|
|
11.
|
Timely submits all reports, documentation and other
relevant information as required.
|
|
12.
|
Maintains centralized documentation of all network and
system changes.
|
|
13.
|
Participates in management and system/technology
meetings.
|
|
14.
|
Prepares correspondence and documentation, including
checklists.
|
|
15.
|
Remedies technology issues/problems.
|
|
16.
|
Ensures licenses, registrations, renewals, survey
forms, etc. related to systems and technology operations
and/or services are accurately and timely completed.
(In collaboration with the Director of
Technology).

|
Ensures computer networks and workstations are
operational and secure.
|
|
18.
|
Ensures the availability, continuity and security of
data and information.
|
|
19.
|
Utilizes technology to achieve organizational
goals.
|
|
20.
|
Maximizes the utilization of the organization's
technology center.
|
|
21.
|
Prepares technology and systems for new and exiting
staff.
|
|
22.
|
Manages or assists with external technology
projects.
|
|
23.
|
Stays abreast of trends and innovations in the field
of information systems/technology that could benefit the
organization; documents findings/rationale and
recommendations to supervisors.
|
|
24.
|
Assists in other duties as needed and directed.
