QUALIFICATION:  This position requires knowledge of programming language skills; Microsoft Active Directory structure; leading software applications and solutions; networks; hardware; infrastructure; quality control; web-based technology; relational databases; operating systems; database technology (eg.SQL).

 

Must possess the skill to write and interpret specifications; integrate technologies; inspect, trouble-shoot, integrate, diagnose, de-bug and repair requisite hardware and software; communicate effectively in both oral and written forms; effectively use and operate precision tools and electronic testing equipment; prepare reports, presentations, cost-benefit estimates and maintain accurate records and files; establish and maintain effective work relationships with those contacted in the performance of required duties.

 

Must possess the ability to create and execute test scripts and applications for interfaces between multiple IT systems; integrate a variety of applications in a seamless manner.  Applications include PC software, network maintenance software, PC/AS400 integration, GIS demographic software, Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP), Wireless Applications Protocol (WAP), and new software acquisitions; develop seamless integration of applications, both canned and in-house, with Microsoft Active Directory; coordinate and develop a number of projects running concurrently, approving the quality of all code released; design software and translates specifications into code using appropriate software development tools; train users of integrated applications as required; prepare a variety of technical reports/manuals, documentation and correspondence; perform related duties as required.

 

EXPERIENCE:  Two years of journeyman level experience in the design, installation, and development of integrated technical applications and database programming experience.  Experience with Microsoft Active Directory and database programming languages is highly desirable.  Any combination of training and/or experience that would provide the desired knowledge and skill may be acceptable.

 

EDUCATION:  Equivalent to completion of twelfth grade, preferably supplemented by job-related college level or technical school courses.

 

APPLICANTS WILL BE TESTED ON GENERAL KNOWLEDGE OF PROGRAMMING SKILLS.

 

MUST POSSESS AND MAINTAIN A VALID CLASS “C” CALIFORNIA DRIVER’S LICENSE.  A CURRENT COPY OF DMV DRIVING RECORD WILL BE REQUIRED OF SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT.

 

A CRIMINAL HISTORY CHECK AND PRE-EMPLOYMENT MEDICAL ASSESSMENT WILL BE REQUIRED OF THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT.       

 

DUTIES OF POSITION:  To plan, coordinate, and supervise activities related to the integration of software programs and applications of all KHSD information systems.  Employees in this classification are also responsible for the development of in-house applications and testing the interoperability of those applications.  The design, development, and launching of efficient applications and operating systems to support district functions and maximize IT systems investments is required.  Employees in this classification receive limited supervision from the Director of Data Processing within a broad framework of policies and procedures.  This job classification exercises independent judgment in selecting work methods and procedures while working with a variety of district departments.  Proven communication skills, problem-solving skills, and a thorough knowledge of integration best practices are essential.

 

STARTING SALARY:         $5,228.30 (monthly)

 

NUMBER OF MONTHS:      12 (to begin as soon as possible)

NUMBER OF HOURS:        8 (daily working hours to be 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.)
