PERFORMANCE
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Serve as an instructional
leader of the school and effectively utilize resources for
program development and in-service education
·
Assists in the development
and establishment of the school goals and objectives and the
planning of the school's instructional program
·
Assist with monitoring and
participating in the effective operation of the School
Improvement Plan
·
Provides direction to staff
in implementing the goals and objectives and interacts and meets
with staff to assist in their development
·
Assists in the evaluation
of the school program and assists to initiate needed
improvements
·
Assist teacher teams with
instructional and curricular issues
·
Observe and supervise staff
as assigned by the Principal
·
Assist with evaluating
employees in accordance with district policy, procedures and
contracts
·
Assists in the preparation
and management of budgets and schedules and in the coordination
and implementation of the co-curricular program
·
Assist in recruiting,
screening and hiring of staff
·
Assist with orienting new
staff and their development as appropriate
·
Assists with defining and
disseminating information about school disciplinary policies and
procedures to parents, students, staff and the community
·
Maintain high standards of
student conduct and enforce discipline as necessary
·
Talks with and disciplines
students in cases of attendance and behavior problems
·
Assists in the
implementation of student orientation and registration
activities
·
Assist with the maintenance
of accurate records on the progress and attendance of
students
·
Assist in the completion of
records and reports and in the supervision and inventory of
necessary supplies, textbooks, equipment and materials
·
Attend school sponsored
activities
·
In the absence of the
principal, assume responsibility for the total operation of the
school and the welfare of teachers, staff and students
·
Acts to upgrade own
professional knowledge and skills
·
All other responsibilities
and tasks as assigned by the principal
QUALIFICATIONS:
·
I
llinois
Administrative certificate
·
Illinois Elementary,
Secondary or Special teaching certificate
·
Master's degree from an
accredited institution
·
Proven success as a teacher
or administrator, as well as experience in a multi-ethnic school
district
·
Knowledge of teaching and
learning processes
·
Knowledge of organization
and management theory practice
·
Knowledge of and ability to
work with labor relations and collective bargaining
agreements
