Salary:  At the appropriate Step on the Salary Schedule of the Master Agreement              
 

Minimum Qualifications:

1.     Applicant must have completed a Masters Degree or above in one of the fields listed in #2

2.     Michigan Department of Education fully approved School Psychologist, or School Social Worker or Special Education Teacher with Behavior Intervention Specialist Certification.

3.     Knowledge and experience with Positive Behavior Support, Functional Behavior Analysis, Behavior Intervention Planning.

4.     Training, familiarity and experience with low incidence disabilities, developmental disabilities (CI, ASD, SXI), dual diagnosis (CI/EI) & emotional impairment.

5.     Strong Consultative communication skills.

6.     Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable.

Responsibilities:

1.     Facilitate Positive Behavior Support, Functional Behavior Analysis, and Behavior Intervention Planning with staff, students, parents, agencies and administrators. This includes: Individualized evaluation,

        written plans, development of IEP goals & objectives, meeting coordination, direct intervention, consultative intervention, record keeping; data collection and effective communication.

2.     Coordinate, monitor, interpret and report data on targeted student behavior.

3.     Facilitate staff communication and staff development related to Positive Behavior Support, Functional Behavior Analysis, and Behavior Intervention Planning.

4.     Model appropriate behavior intervention techniques with staff and parents.

5.     Conduct direct and collaborative intervention/service delivery with assigned students.

6.     Facilitate effective, non-violent crisis intervention with students as needed according to policies, procedures, laws, and standards.

7.     Complete effective formal & informal individual student assessments and produce accurate, articulate and timely written reports.

8.     Participate as a member of the Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team for assigned cases.

9.     Communicate effectively in a liaison role with parents, staff, administration, school districts and agencies regarding current students and referrals.

10.  Other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Services.
