Nurse Assistant (6760)

• Assists registered nurse in keeping an efficient, safe and healthy clinic environment
• Provides basic first aid and emergency care according to District policies and procedures
• Assists registered nurse with communicable disease prevention and control programs
• Performs selected health screening activities, including but not limited to vision and hearing
• Dispenses prescribed medication and performs specified treatments according to district policies and procedures
• Records selected student health information and keeps accurate data for monthly activities reports
• Shares health information with the appropriate personnel and maintains confidentiality of information
• Informs the registered nurse of requests or needs for health counseling and health education
• Assists with inventory, including the ordering and maintenance of adequate clinic supplies
• Continue training and recertification in the healthcare specialty as required by the district
• Performs all other tasks and duties as assigned

• Accredited Senior High School Diploma or equivalent (U.S.A. equivalency), current Red Cross certification in First Aid or equivalent (DPS Standard First Aid Class) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
• Six months of experience as a nurse aide or in a healthcare related field preferred
• Six months of clerical experience preferred

Selected individuals for Dallas Independent School District positions will be placed according to current District promotional policy and compensation guidelines.
