Position:
Springfield's Alternative For Expulsion Teacher (SAFE)
Location:
The White Building
Qualifications:
1.
Special education license preferred or a
valid and appropriate elementary, middle childhood (4-9) or
adolescence to young adult (7-12) teaching certificate/license
from the State of Ohio.
2.
Knowledge of behavioral and emotional
interventions for pre-adolescent and adolescent students.
3.
Knowledge of adaptive teaching strategies
(e.g. differentiated instruction).
4.
Knowledge of PRAXIS/Pathwise domains for
effective teaching.
5.
Knowledge of state competency models and
learner outcomes associated with Ohio Achievement and Graduation
tests.
6.
Ability to promote student achievement in
reading and writing by incorporating a comprehensive literacy
approach.
7.
Demonstrated ability to communicate with
students, parents, teachers, counselors, and
administrators.
8.
Knowledge of how to integrate technology
into the curriculum.
9.
Willingness to meet the needs of all
students (e.g. at-risk, high achieving, special
education).
10.
Willingness to work in school sponsored and
school related activities.
11.
Knowledgeable and trained in non-violent
crisis intervention.
