With an enrollment of approximately 10,000 students, the Canton City School District is the largest in Stark County and one of the eight largest urban systems in Ohio. The District is comprised of two high schools, three middle schools, fourteen elementary schools, Canton Early College High School, Early College Middle School Academy, a K-8 Arts Academy, five alternative high schools, one alternative middle school, a digital academy and partners to operate a Montessori school. The district partners with multiple colleges and universities to support both students and staff. The district collaborates with the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce, The Stark Education Partnership, Harvard University, multiple community partners and many others to deliver high quality education to support students, achievement, staff development and the growth of our community. The successful candidate should be prepared to provide evidence of: High performance expectations for students, staff and self. Successful classroom teaching and educational leadership roles at the Middle School level or comparable experience and understanding of pre-kindergarten through 8th grade instruction. Record of educational positions or experiences showing increasing responsibilities. Strong literacy background. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to work in a collaborative environment with building staff, district staff, parents and community. Possess an Ohio Administrative License/Certificate for the position of Middle School Principal.
