Assigned responsibilities:

  • Directs the operation and administration of the personnel program for the District, which includes workforce planning, recruitment, selection, initial assignment, transfer, substitute procurement, credential processing, and separation
  • Directs all staff personnel services required for the effective support of the approved instructional program
  • Prepares, reviews or revises job descriptions for all employees
  • Evaluates the performance of immediate subordinates and establishes procedures for coordination and review of the evaluation of performance of all staff assigned to the District
  • Reconciles salary/payroll placement issues
  • Serves as chief negotiator for the District in negotiations under collective bargaining for both certificated and classified personnel, and serves as grievance processor for the District
  • Provides for a program of wage and salary administration including direction of necessary personnel research
  • Directs the preparation of personnel budget proposals and administers the expenditure of all budgeted funds
  • Provides for a program of staff relations with individual employees and with verified employee organizations
  • Provides for a program of special services for all employees including employee records, benefits, and morale
  • Serves as an administrative representative in meetings and conference sessions
  • Prepares and coordinates personnel requirements and budget requests for the District. Has responsibility of position control
  • Designated as the Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action/Title IX compliance officer for the District
  • Directs the operation and administration of the District employees health and life insurance program
  • Directs the preparation and administration of District Retired Consultant Program
  • Responsible for investigation of formal sexual harassment complaints
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

 

Experience:

Job related experience with education law as specialized field

 

Education:

Master's or Juris Doctorate degree in job related area
