Duties & Responsibilities: (Essential Functions of Position, Major Responsibilities, Summary of Key Duties, Special Assignments, Relationships)
· Ability to teach seventh grade Language Arts curriculum
· Incorporate non-fiction writing into Math curriculum
· Implement ‘Power Strategies’ through the Gradual Release model (Fisher, Frey)
· Administer SMI assessment, analyze data, and plan individual student instruction/interventions accordingly
· Ability to provide specific Math interventions (RTI) to all students including those with special needs
· Ability to build relationships with a diverse student population, and implement a discipline philosophy that respects the dignity of students
· Ability to collect & analyze student performance data to inform instruction
· Active participation in weekly data teams using the Lead and Learn six-step process
· Actively participate in collaborative decision making, especially as it relates to staff development & school improvement
· Create individual student learning plans for each student based on Common Core Power Standards in Math
· Attend all staff development
· Commitment to high academic expectations for student learning
· Demonstrates effective classroom management skills
· Communicate regularly with parents to encourage parental involvement
· Possess competence in technological skills and ability to incorporate into daily lesson design
· Possess good organizational skills
· Perform other duties as assigned by principal.
Physical Requirements of Position: (HBV Yes x No)
· Three story building, not air-conditioned.
· Must be able to push/pull/lift 50 lbs.
