Maintenance Custodial Position - Reports to Maintenance Director
Positions Available:

shift; Maintenance worker I. 8 am to 4:30 pm M –F and Special Events, hours
may be adjusted based on project schedule
Duration:
90 day training & review period, some
position may be seasonal and need is determined at the end of each school year
Position Summary:
General
Maintenance worker I. Objective is to assist
in maintaining the buildings and Grounds by completing basic repairs,
performing grounds care and maintaining
equipment, as well as performing other
building related services as directed by the Maintenance Director.
Qualifications:
Required: High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Education: Relevant industry related training/history of
continued education
Required Experience: Must have 2-5 years commercial building or
grounds maintenance experience
Preferred Experience: Maintenance/ grounds care in an Educational
facility
Required Knowledge, Skills,
and Abilities: Solid communication and time management skills. Must be
flexible, with a positive attitude and willingness to collaborate with others.
Ability to perform physically demanding work, such as heavy lifting (50 lbs.)
climbing, standing, bending, stooping, and working outdoors in inclement
weather. Must have a basic knowledge of Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry, and
Equipment Maintenance.
Primary Duties Required For These Positions Are:
- Report to Maintenance Director.
- General repairs both inside and outside the building.
- Assist in project work
- Grounds care and Mowing
- Assist with the setup of facilities for meetings,
classrooms, conferences, events, etc.
- Strip, clean, buff and apply floor sealer and
floor finish to hard surface floors, vacuum and shampoo carpets.
- Use and maintain assigned power equipment and
hand tools; buffers, auto scrubbers, extractors, high pressure washers,
high speed buffers and vacuums, brooms, mops, and squeegees for the
cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, carpets, furniture, etc.
- Wash walls and equipment; use ladders when
required in work assignments.
- Lock and unlock assigned buildings: secure
building when facilities are not in use checking for unlocked doors and
windows, report any unauthorized occupants, turn off lights.
- Follow instructions regarding the use of
chemicals and supplies. Use as directed.
- Removal of snow or debris from sidewalks and
stairs in areas outside of the buildings using hand-operated tools or
small power equipment.
- Move furniture, equipment, supplies as needed.
