School Age Care Site Supervisor

Position:
School Age Care Site Supervisor
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Design, implement, and
oversee age-appropriate program based on program philosophy
including day-to-day operation, field trips, and special
events
-Establish and maintain clear, consistent, and fair limits on
children's behavior
-Implement and maintain positive guidance and discipline
techniques set by program
-Access resources as necessary for special needs children
-Continue professional growth, attend all staff meetings and
in-services
-Adhere to licensing guidelines set by the Colorado Department of
Social Services, Boulder County Health Department and School
District policies and procedures
-Work cooperatively with Assistant Supervisor delegating
appropriate responsibilities
-Supervise Assistants and create a harmonious and efficient work
environment
-Hold monthly staff meetings to review schedule and address
relevant issues and team building
-Purchase and maintain program supplies and services /submit
accurate monthly budget report
-Maintain accurate attendance records, knowing where children are
at all times
-Coordinate with community agencies
-Provide accurate and timely information to Program Manager,
Assistant Manager, and Administrative Office
-Participate in the hiring and evaluating of Staff Assistants
when possible
-Provide relevant resources and/or current educational materials
for staff and parents.
-Maintain on-going communication with staff
-Establish and maintain regular and open communication with
parents regarding children's progress and behavior as well as
upcoming field trips and special events
-Provide a monthly calendar of daily activities and a monthly
newsletter for parents
-Establish and maintain on-going timely communication with
Program Mangers and school building personnel including
Custodian, Principal and classroom teachers as necessary
Qualifications
Required:
-Four-year degree in education, recreation, human services, or
related field; (Non-related degrees are accepted with one year of
full time work experience with school age children in a group
setting)
-
Communicate (read, write, and speak) in
English, must pass English component of interview process
-Completed and submitted BVSD online application
Preferred:
-Ability and the skill to exercise appropriate supervision and
direction to children ages 5-12
-Demonstrated successful experience in program design and
implementation for children
-Proven ability to work effectively with and supervise adult
staff
-Effective verbal and written communication skill
-Professional attitude towards childcare
-Experience with special needs children helpful
