RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Provide careful and effective supervision of children's
activities
-Assist in the planning and implementation of programming for
children
-Lead groups of children in a variety of activities
-Carry out objectives developed for BVSD School Age Programs
-Assist children in establishing and maintaining the standards of
behavior as set by the program using proactive methods of guiding
appropriate behavior and positive reinforcement strategies
-Cooperate with other staff to create and maintain a harmonious
social environment
-Interact positively with parents and refer appropriate questions
and concerns
-Maintain a clean and safe physical environment
-Report unsafe equipment or program supply concerns
Qualifications
Required:
-High School diploma or equivalent
-
Communicate (read, write, and speak) in
English, must pass English component of interview process
-Completed and submitted BVSD online application
Preferred:
-Four-year degree in education, recreation, human services, or
related field.
Non-related degrees are accepted with
one year of full time work experience with school age children in
a group setting (This is required for supervisor level)
-Ability and the skill to exercise appropriate supervision and
direction to children ages 5-12
-Demonstrated successful experience in program design and
implementation for children
-Proven ability to work effectively with and supervise adult
staff
-Effective verbal and written communication skill
-Professional attitude towards childcare
-Experience with special needs children helpful
