Site Director, Extended Day Program

Primary Purpose:

Oversee the After School Program at assigned PISD Elementary School.

Qualifications (Experience/ Education/Certification):

Any combination of education, training, and/or experience which demonstrate ability to perform the required duties. A typical qualifying background would include graduation from high school or equivalent and one year of paid experience working with children. Experience in staff and program supervision is desirable.   CPR/First Aid Certification; AED and UDCA Training; Preferred Valid Texas Teacher Certification.

Major Responsibilities:

§   Coordinate with Principal, Assistant Director of Student Services and Extended Day Program Manager in order to meet the needs of students.

§   Create Extended Day Program Master Schedule.

§   Manage payroll for staff members.

§   Supervise up to 100 students and 6 adults.

§   Order, maintain and track supplies/materials.

§   Maintain attendance using management software program.

§   Meet regularly with Assistant Director of Student Services and Extended Day Program Manager to discuss areas of success and improvement.

§   Train staff in how to manage student behaviors.  Manage student behaviors as they arise.

§   Use data to track student's academic progress.

§   Organize staff development.

§   Complete compliance reports for campus program.

§   Work with staff and parents to create a safe and nurturing after school environment.

§   Conserve electricity as outlined in the districts energy management plan.

Special Knowledge/Skills:

§   Knowledge of all district and campus operating procedures and guidelines.

§   Knowledge of curriculum and instruction.

§   Skill in communicating and collaborating effectively with others and working in a  team-based environment.

§   Skill in working with computer tools, including but limited to:  email, internet, Word, Power Point, etc.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

The Extended Day Director will directly supervise Extended Day Staff Members.

Working Conditions (Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Demands):

Maintain emotional control under stress; must be able to lift and/or carry 30 lbs independently and over 50 lbs with assistance.
