Century Grant - Summer Program Nurse
The nurse will work at the William S. Greene School, 21
Century Summer School health program. The summer school session
will take place from July 9, 2012 to August 23, 2012 for 4 days
per week, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8:00-2:00.
The scope of responsibilities will vary according to program
needs and will include participating in field trips.
1. Must have a current
Massachusetts license to practice as a Registered
2. Maintain certification in
cardiopulmonary resuscitation and First Aid from a recognized
provider, i.e. American Heart Association.
3. Mature, stable person
who enjoys working with children and
demonstrates sound judgement.
Century Site Coordinator(s)
These responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Promotes positive safety
practices both within and outside of
Carries out communicable
disease prevention and infection control based
on current guidelines for universal
precautions, prevention of bloodborne pathogens exposure and
hazardous medical waste disposal.
Provides medically prescribed
interventions including medication
administration (Based on State and
Local Regulations), nursing procedures, and assists with nursing
care to the chronically ill children on a daily basis.
Responds to frequently
encountered health issues, provided counseling
and crisis intervention when
required, e.g., responds to child neglect or abuse issues (as
required by Massachusetts statute).
Provides first aid to injured
children and staff; provides everyday care of
acutely ill children; manages
children with communicable diseases.
Professional/Instructional Stipend $30.00 per hour
