Qualifications:                         * Master's degree from an accredited college/university.

* Current Kansas State Teaching License listing certification endorsements in Special Education.

 

BASIC FUNCITON/PURPOSE

            The Inclusion Facilitator provides leadership to teachers and administrators on the delivery of instructional activities that increase opportunities for Exceptional Student Services students in the least restrictive environment. The Inclusion Facilitator will be required to work closely with both staff and administration on programming needs and meeting legal requirements of the Exceptional Student Services division.

            The employee performing the duties of this position is frequently required to walk, sit, talk, hear, bend, stoop, and reach.   The employee may be occasionally required to manually lift, move, or carry up to 35 pounds.   The employee is required to interact with staff and meet the demands of several different people.   The employee is responsible for the work output of others.   The employee occasionally works extended hours.   Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

 

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Support the philosophy and vision of exceptional services in the Geary County School District.
  2. Attend final SIT/MTSS team meetings to ensure that all documentation of the SIT process and response to invention documentation necessary toe the evaluation process has been completed accurately.
  3. Monitor all referrals through the evaluation process, meet with evaluation team regularly.
  4. Attend IEP meetings and sign as the LEA representative when an administrator can't be present.
  5. Attend exit staffing's for students from hospital/treatment programs/special purpose schools. Liaison with agencies such as SRS, mental health, Court Services, etc., to provide appropriate services and interagency collaboration.
  6. Coordinate transition of students new to the district and between schools within the district.
  7. Assist counselors with the scheduling of exceptional students.
  8. Assist with the integration of exceptional students into the general education program.

9. Assist teachers in the development and implementation of curriculum modifications and appropriate

            classroom strategies.    

10. Provide demonstration of effective teaching practices within the classroom.  

11. Establish mentoring relationships among teachers to support inclusion activities.

  1. Develop and deliver professional development sessions within the district.
  2. Intervene and provide support with discipline problems of exceptional students.   
  3. Oversee the collection, analysis and interpretation of evaluative data regarding special education students in

      general education settings.

  1. Partial caseload in one area of exceptionality.
  2. Work effectively with building and district committees.

14. Provide information and recommendations to the Director Exceptional Student Services in making decisions

      regarding the activities of teachers involved with the inclusion of students.

16. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Exceptional Student Services.

 

 

Term of Employment:             Teacher Contract + 10 days

Salary Range:                          Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Evaluation Frequency:            Job performance will be evaluated a minimum of 1 time per year.
