JOB PURPOSE & RESPONSIBILITIES:This position will provide leadership and educational training opportunities for parents and staff in order to improve the educational success of children. Incumbent will assist parents and family members find or access educational opportunities for their children. Incumbent will assist the principal and school staff develop and implement effective parent involvement strategies or techniques. Incumbent will serve as a liaison between the school and the home, and is responsible for identifying at-risk students. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: High school diploma or G.E.D.; prefer minimum of 2 years of college. EXPERIENCE: Minimum of two years experience working in education, social services, adult education, community organizations, or related fields. KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: *Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse student/parent population. *Knowledge of local social service agencies. *Ability to interpret student attendance/grade data. *Ability to make frequent home visits using own transportation. *Ability to work evening hours when necessary.
DUTY DAYS: 209 DAYS
SALARY: CT7: $14.74 - $18.43/hr
Salary determination will be based on documented experience.
