Responsible To:                  Director of Teaching and Learning

 

Position Purpose:               Provide leadership and supervision of Teaching and Learning in Eastern Carver                                                                                                  County Schools

 

Position Requirements:    - Minnesota Teacher License(s)

                                     - Administrative License – Secondary Principal License preferred

                                     - Proven success in working with students, parents, staff, and administrators

- Experience working in a wide range of age and content areas
- Experience in the evaluation of technology systems, tools and applications       relevant to curriculum, assessment and data management

                                     - Excellent communication skills

                                     - Experience with continuous improvement and data-driven decision making

                                               

Benefits of Employment as of July 1, 2012:  Eligible for benefits as negotiated between Non-Aligned Coordinators, Managers and Supervisors and Chaska School District 112.  This position is not eligible for overtime and comp time.

 

Salary:  $96,885/year

Provide leadership and supervision in Teaching and Learning, (K-12) in the following broad areas:

·         Provide instructional leadership and facilitate staff development in best practices as delineated in The Framework for Excellence in Teaching.

·         Participate in recruitment and hiring, coaching, evaluation and supervision of staff in the Teaching and Learning department.

·         Participate in the coaching and evaluation of Eastern Carver County teachers.

·         Communicate with the Director of Teaching and Learning in planning program and staff development activities, budget development and management, student and staff initiatives, and ongoing best practices.

·         Collaborate with Directors of Teaching and Learning and the Director of Information Systems with the transition to a digital learning environment.

·         Other duties as assigned

Provide leadership in secondary curriculum and instruction programs to determine improvements in curriculum and instruction based on assessment data and best practices.

 

·         Initiate and monitor curricular improvement at the secondary level.

·         Coordinate secondary curriculum reviews through a model for rapid prototyping.

·         Supervise the implementation of standards-based instruction.

·         Observe, evaluate and coach teachers.

·         Support professional learning community groups.

·         Receive training relevant to curriculum and instruction and the professional development program.

·         Ability to facilitate evaluation and change process

·         Knowledge of secondary curriculum and instruction

§  Partner with the Director of Teaching and Learning to identify competencies, instructional delivery and management tools.

§  Apply recommendations of the International Society for Technology in Education .

§  Provide leadership in developing electronic course delivery methods (e.g. online/blending learning) flipped classrooms.
