  The Needham High School Health & Wellness and Athletic Departments are currently accepting applications for the position of 2012-2013 NHS Fitness Center Manager.  The Manager(s) will be responsible for the overall operations, oversight, scheduling, upkeep and programming of the Fitness Center.  The Manager(s) will be expected to maintain order and hold students, faculty and staff accountable for safe practices and keeping equipment clean and neat.  In addition, the Manager(s) will teach Fitness Center users how to properly and safely use the equipment, along with providing exercise guidance and supervision to students, student-athletes (in and out of season), faculty and staff.  The Manager(s) will also need to make sure the room is clean and organized at all times.

The Manager(s) will be required to work 2.5-3.5 hours per day for approximately 180 school days and will serve as a resource to the Wellness and Athletic Departments to ensure fitness content and teaching practices are current and consistent.  The Manager(s) will also work with the athletic trainers and coaches to help develop training programs for students, athletes and teams.

The Fitness Center Manager position is a stipend position ($11,449.00 total funded for the year) and will be staffed on a seasonal (fall, winter, spring), or full school-year, basis.  Depending on availability and schedule of candidates, the position may be filled by one person (covering all three seasons) or by two to three people (each covering one or two seasons).
