BASIC FUNCTION/PURPOSE
The Special Education teacher challenges each student to reach
his/her highest academic potential through a relevant
curriculum in a safe and effective learning environment by
collaborating with other members of the staff and
administration to appropriately monitor student progress and
make informed, timely educational decisions.

and/or Director of Special Education.

development and implementation of curricular
modification/classroom strategies.

Plan and implement transition
services for students.

the comprehensive evaluation, review, and re-evaluation

members in resolving the unique psychological or disciplinary
problems of each student

Works cooperatively with
classroom teachers who have students who are served in the
FLS program in regular classes, interpreting the abilities
and disabilities of these students to the staff, and
assisting the student with regular class assignments and
test-taking

Perform other duties assigned by
the principal or other building or district
administrators.
Term of Employment:
Teacher Contract
Salary Range:
Determined by placement on teacher salary schedule.
Additional days beyond the contract year will be compensated
according to the negotiated agreement in effect
Evaluation Frequency:
Job performance will be evaluated in accordance with state
regulations and the terms established in the negotiated
agreement
