Summary of Duties
DeWitt High School is seeking a secondary Language Arts teacher. The candidate must possess multiple endorsements, to provide for flexibility at the secondary level.
Requirements
A valid MI Educator license with a secondary language arts endorsement (BA/BX).
An additional valid MI Educator license with secondary social studies endorsement (RX), French (FA), Math (EX) or Science (DX).
Strong background in teaching career and college literacy skills, AP Language Arts, and AP Literature.
Qualifications
Expertise in utilizing technology in a transformative manner to support instruction.
Knowledge and/or experience using “backwards design” for lesson development, differentiated instruction to support learning for all students, and formative assessment to provide student feedback and to adjust lesson delivery.
Deep knowledge and understanding of the Common Core Standards.
Dedication to providing a safe and respectful learning environment for students.
Excellent teaching, organizational, planning, written and oral communication, creative and collaborative skills.
Commitment to the success of ALL students and the ability to understand and teach to the various learning styles of students.
The ability and enthusiasm to effectively engage students and help them to own their learning.
Strong technology skills with knowledge/experience with developing hybrid or blended learning classes.
