The Council Bluffs Community School District is seeking applicants for the following teaching position for the 2012-13 school year:

MIDDLE SCHOOL SPECIAL EDUCATION

Wilson Middle School

  QUALIFICATION  REQUIREMENTS:

 ·         Valid Iowa teacher license for providing special education instruction to middle school students

  PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 ·         Middle School Endorsement

  KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES DESIRED:

 ·         Successful teaching experience preferably with middle school students

 ·         Evidence of professional growth and commitment to future growth in math & literacy instruction

 ·         Capacity to increase student core area knowledge and skills (reading, writing, math, & science)

 ·         Ability to develop and implement interventions and assessments that improve student learning

 ·         Ability to incorporate learning strategies that meet individual student needs

 ·         Capacity to effectively maintain, implement, and monitor student IEP ‘s.

 ·         Demonstrate a cooperative, collaborative, problem solving approach to teaching

 ·         Aptitude and willingness to utilize technology

 ·         Ability to actively participate in the change process as a positive contributing member to develop program innovations and continuously refine the special education building plan

 ·         Instructional skills in working with classroom instructors as a support and resource for teaching core area subjects
