E.L. Haynes Public Charter School
was founded in 2004 and has an award-winning program based on effective
practices for advancing student achievement. E.L. Haynes is among the top-performing
charter schools in Washington D.C., and is recognized locally and nationally as
a model and for our exceptional student achievement gains. E.L. Haynes
currently serves over 800 students in grades PreK-9 and continues to grow until
it serves PreK-12th grade.

Description
The Operations Manager is a key member of
the Front Office Team and an important position to the operation of the
school. The duties of this position are
many and varied; they require an individual who can prioritize multiple tasks,
work in a fast paced environment, and still keep a smile on his/her face. The Operations Manager reports to the COO.
The following is a general list of
responsibilities of the position—additional duties may be assigned.
Data & Compliance
·
Set up
and maintain electronic databases of student information using various computer
programs including, but not limited to, PowerSchool, OLAMS, SLED, AlertNow and
EdFacts.
·
Prepares
reports for the PCSB, OFGP, and SEO
·
Prepares
for compliance visits and reviews from PCSB, OFGP, and SEO.
·
Prepare
required reports from raw data, which includes generating charts and graphs.
Management
·
Oversees
Office Manager, Administrative Assistants, Food & Facilities Aides and
Maintenance Aide.
·
Ensures
Front Office systems are well designed and run smoothly, e.g. attendance
procedures, enrollment documentation, student file maintenance, etc.
·
Lead
Bi-weekly Front Office meetings to discuss upcoming projects and events.
·
Lead Bi-weekly
Individual meetings with Front Office staff to discuss progress and areas of
improvement.
Technology
·
Evaluate
technology requests through the Troi.net database.
·
Repair
and replace at skill level when necessary.
·
Prioritize
technology requests for IT Specialist.
·
Inventory
and track technology to ensure cost effectiveness and maximum utility.
Facilities & Contracts
·
Procure,
monitor and evaluate outside contracts including Security, Technology, Food
Service, Facility Cleaning, Pest Control, Leased Copiers, Water Cooler, Rugs
and Building Consumables, etc.
·
Makes
sure ELH has met code for all health and safety regulations
·
Create
and maintain Emergency Plans & Policies.
·
Act as
the primary contact for Police Liaison through the SRO program.
Student, Staff, Parent and Prospective
Parent Communications
·
Manage
the waitlist and call students off the waitlist as spaces become available.
·
Act as
the primary enrollment contact.
·
Exemplify
E. L. Haynes Promise and live by E. L. Haynes professional learning community

·
Prepare
accurate written communications, including letters, newsletters, and notices.
·
Perform
administrative duties for the Principals, Head of School and other staff as
required.
·
Help
maintain a supportive, learning environment for students and teachers.
Ordering and Accounts Receivable
·
Oversee
ordering of supplies and organization of American Express bill.
·
Secure
daily cash and check deposits
·
Create
the weekly deposit report for Goldstar and take the weekly deposit to the bank.
National School Lunch Program
·
Oversee
Meal Services and ordering
·
Oversee
parent billing
·
Act as
School Representative to the National School Lunch Program.
·
Create
the monthly claim and ensure it is received.
Reconcile Reimbursement checks with previous claims.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree required.
- 2 years business
and/or education experience.
- Managerial
experience preferred.
- Knowledge of the K-12 education field.
- Proficiency with
Microsoft Office and Google documents.
- Collaborates
with direct supervisor in planning and accomplishing goals.
- Strong
interpersonal skills.
Spanish
speakers strongly encouraged to apply.
